DoF (or Depth of Field) can be used to isolate your subject from the background. With a shallow depth of field you get the subject in sharp focus but the background or foreground becomes blurred out.
For this week's challenge, Isolation, you're tasked with finding ways to isolate your subject in the image through a number of different ways. One of these is to choose a lower f-stop so that we lost detail in the background while keeping our subject in nice, sharp focus.
Watch the video to see how you can set your aperture for this effect and to see the difference between a smaller and a larger f-stop.
Get in on the SG Photo challenge! Submit your pics by Sunday at noon to be included in the video critique.
