Size does matter. Especially when you're shooting macro shots.
This week we focused on the little things in life like insects, flowers and toe nails. Macro photography is a special subcategory of photography because it takes a certain devotion and patience to masterfully capture macro shots.
Those with macro lenses were encouraged to use them, but there are other ways to get a macro show without buying expensive gear. One thing we can do is what's called "freelensing", whereupon you disengage your lens from the camera and turn it around to manually hold it in place for the photo.
This week's submissions went beyond what I was expecting. Some of these are simply FULL of awesome! Press play on the video critiques above to see how I felt about each submissionn. And be sure to visit the Sharp Goat Photo Facebook album for the Think Macro shots to leave some Like/Comment love. Let us (and the photographers) know what you think about their shots.
Head's up on the next challenge where we will be examining shadowplay and how to make it a strong element of our shots. All shots are to be submitted through the SG Photo Submission form by Noon on Sunday May 18th to be considered for the video critiques.
