This week's challenge will push us to get comfortable with shooting full manual. The past 3 challenges on using aperture, choosing the right shutter speed and the effects of ISO have all led up to this challenge.
Step 1. See the shot you want to take.
Step 2. In your head, guess the settings you'll need to get the correct exposure. Pick the aperture you want, the shutter speed you want and the ISO you want.
Step 3. Lock those settings in and take ONE shot.
Step 4. Send me that shot. That's it!
You can submit up to 5 pics total but they should all be your first attempt at getting the exposure right in full manual. The idea here is to experiment with guessing the correct settings you need in any situation so that we can jump into full manual mode with confidence the next time you're out shooting.
We NEED be shooting manual to get the most out of the rest of the challenges. There are only forty-four more of them to get through so let's get cracking, folks! (Holy bejeezus, that's a lot to go but we've already done SO much already).
If you need to brush up on how to pick each of the settings on your camera, then look back at the previous video critiques to see the different effects.
Share this challenge with your friends, announce it on Facebook, let's get more folk on this bandwagon of ours.
